BROKEN She’ll carry this secret to her grave where it can die a lonely death And each emotion her heart will crave will suddenly run out of breath And I am forced to live with this and die a little every day To never know her tender kiss to never feel her gentle way Every time I see her smile I wonder what her heart would say And if the truth would set her free and let her fears just melt away Broken hearts and broken dreams we can never hope to share We walk in perfect parallels we call for help to no one there We are broken we are stained we are only half awake The better part of us remained upon the road we didn’t take The better part of us remained upon the road we didn’t take I long to roam her garden path and eat of her forbidden fruit I hope that we can someday laugh at how we nearly missed the truth We suffer through the choice we make and hope we someday will forget The perfect love that might have been and try to live without regret So I will never know her love or the pleasure of her soft caress And she will lock her heart away where it will die a lonely death Broken hearts and broken dreams . . .
